Required Hardware
Jarvis Computer Software does not require that the equipment used for their systems to be
purchased only from them. It could be to a dealer's advantage to purchase the necessary
equipment locally. It is required that the equipment purchased meet all specifications listed. These specifications are subject to change. It is recommended that you have any vendor you purchase equipment from review the exact specifications of the equipment with us prior to your purchase.
Computer Equipment
- Pentium III processor or latter @ 1 GHZ or faster recommended.
- Hard disk - 18GB or larger.
- Ram memory - Minimum 128. Additional memory can assist in faster processing of data.
- Display - SVGA color recommended.
- Keyboard - 101 enhanced.
- Floppy Disk Drive - 3.5 inch, 1.44MB - One required.
- Tape Drive - Check with Jarvis Computer Software for exact requirements.
Operating System Software - SCO UNIX purchased from Jarvis Computer Software.
Display - Monochrome or color. SVGA color recommended.
Ports - Eight or more Digiboard serial ports. One port per terminal and each printer plus 2 spare ports.
Terminals - A terminal for each additional user. These terminals must have:
- Key board similar to the 101 enhanced keyboard of the computer.
- Minimum of 10 function keys.
- Display providing 25 lines.
Equipment Cost
- Multi-user - $4500 to $7500 plus printers and terminals.
- Printers - $450 to $1500 each.
- Terminals - $500 to $800 each.
We can arrange for most dealers to interface with the manufacturer's DCS system. We have a
working partnership with DPC that allows us to offer their version of GM DCS to most GM
dealers. This can mean savings to GM dealers as both systems use SCO Unix.
