Overview System 1 is a fast, efficient and friendly inventory control system. The various functions appear on menus. To run a specific function you enter a 2 digit function code.
System 1 excels in three, primary, inventory control functions:
1) Stocking the parts that will sell.
2) Maintaining the proper levels of parts that sell.
3) Discontinue stocking parts that do not sell.
Profits
System 1 will increase profits in a parts department. In some dealerships the parts department has improved from nearly last in 20 Group performance to first. In other dealerships System 1 has nearly doubled the profits of their parts departments.
Training
Initial training will be provided at your dealership. This training takes about one day. The initial training is provided as part of the purchase price of System 1.
Price Updates
Master price updates and part number changes are available from Jarvis Computer Software for GM, Chrysler, Ford, and some foreign manufacturers.
Slow PartsSystem 1 has a slow moving parts report allowing selection of slow criteria. This report can be run over the entire inventory or against specific bins. You can find out what is slow in general or what has not moved in the special order bins.
You can generate a diskette on part numbers and quantities for PARTS VOICE or other parts' locator services. You can also tag part numbers so they are automatically excluded from suggested orders.
Lost Sales
System 1 automatically records every unsuccessful inquiry. No action is required of the parts manager. Lost sales will not be lost because someone was too busy.
Lost sales are categorized by stocking parts and non-stocking parts. Suggested order can include lost sales part numbers. Lost Sales reports can be generated showing all part numbers, stock-out part numbers, or by back-ordered part numbers.
Ordering
System 1 generates suggested orders based on the 104 weeks of sales history kept on each part. When the bin quantity drops to or below the order point, then the part is placed on the suggested order. Items that fall to zero level but should not be reordered also show up on the suggest order at an order level of zero. Suggested orders may optionally include items from the lost sales.
Slow moving parts, lost sales reports, and suggested orders greatly assist the parts manager in getting the three primary functions done effectively.
Point of Sale
The inquiry function automatically provides all pricing, bin, vendor, car lines and return code information. The part number changes are displayed both forwards and backward. The part order status is displayed.
Inventory decrement is immediate. Daily posting is not necessary. Sales to repair orders are held open until the repair order is closed. Sales on counter tickets can be invoiced immediately.
Manufacturers' Pricing
Master Parts Pricing is available for all domestic and many foreign parts. These include all prices and other information made available by each manufacturer. Instantaneous lookup of this information is provided.
Part Number Changes
Part usage and number change information are included with the Master Price Updates for all available and many foreign manufacturers. In most cases, this includes forward and backward references.
104 Week Sales History
Each week of operations one new week of history is created and the 105th week of history is dropped. This prevents data loss at the start of a new quarter or year.
The full 104 weeks of information can be displayed by selected part number on a single screen.
Trends are easily determined allowing for intelligent decisions.
Reports
Many reports are available -- from simple lists of inventory by part number, group, vendor, or bin to sophisticated statistical summary of inventory performance.
These include -- Value reports for account, Daily sale reports, Weekly sale reports, Demand reports, Slow moving parts reports, Number change reports, and Special order reports.
Electronic Parts Catalog
System 1 can be interfaced to electronic parts catalogs which are available from various vendors such as Bell & Howell, Reynolds & Reynolds, Ford CPD, DaimlerChrysler Starparts, and EDS. When a part is found, a touch of a button looks it up in System 1.
Invoicing
Part invoicing is an added cost option to System 1 stand-alone systems. It is included at no charge when purchased with System A, dealership accounting.
